Job summary

DC Government's Child and Family Services Agency seeks an experienced HR Specialist (ELR) to provide technical and administrative HR support across ELR, leave, training, and policy development. You will handle data management, HRIS processes, and compliance with federal and District laws.

Responsibilities include advising managers on HR programs, conducting trainings, and supporting collective bargaining efforts. A background in human resources and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred with relevant experience.
• Experience providing guidance on FMLA, ADA, protected leave, and HR programs.
• Ability to develop training and policy materials for supervisors and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to applicants and employees on ELR, FMLA, and policies.
• Support employee relations programs and track leave, performance, and engagement.
• Develop and deliver training content on HR programs and SOPs.
• Prepare communications on HR programs and services; assist in policy manuals.
• Advise on meditations, labor relations, and disciplinary processes.
• Assist with data collection and reporting for HR operations.
