Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Talent Advising, Business Officers, and Provost’s Office to set up new faculty and staff hires
  • Administer employee assignment and salary updates to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time
  • Display acute attention to detail while multi-tasking
  • Provide client support and intradepartmental HR collaboration by addressing employment data, timecard entries, absences/leave, and pay questions
  • Utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Perform frequent validations to maintain data quality and accuracy
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and adhere to university policies
  • Support HR partners with process and policy recommendations, and ad hoc data reporting or analysis
  • Collaborate on process-improvement projects to optimize system efficiency and training materials
  • Perform all other duties to support Baylor’s mission
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance

What We are Looking For

The HR Specialist serves in the Division of Human Resources and is responsible for overseeing and managing all personnel transactions for the life cycle of employees for assigned client groups. This role serves as a strategic partner to the Divisional Business Officers, Financial Managers, HR Consultants, Talent Advisors, Payroll and Benefits Analysts, and Labor Distribution Accountants, providing a collaborative and supportive environment while ensuring policy compliance.

A bachelor’s degree and one year of experience are required. Two years of experience is preferred.

Additional experience or education will be considered in lieu of one another.

This role is temporary in nature.

What You Will Do
  • Coordinate with Talent Advising, Business Officers, and Provost’s Office to set up new faculty and staff hires
  • Administer employee assignment and salary updates to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time
  • Display acute attention to detail while multi-tasking
  • Provide excellent client support and intradepartmental HR collaboration by addressing concerns or questions related to employment data, timecard entries, absences/leave, and pay
  • Utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills and achieve work through a collaborative and team-oriented approach
  • Perform frequent validations to maintain data quality and accuracy with the ability to multi-task while maintaining data integrity
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times
  • Display a high ethical standard with the ability to adhere to the University's policies and procedures
  • Support client groups and HR partners with process and policy recommendations, and ad hoc data reporting or analysis as needed, including routine summary reports to Business Officers and key client group contacts
  • Collaborate on projects for process improvements designed to optimize system efficiency and agility, maintain accurate job training material, and look for solutions for common troubleshooting items
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
