Job summary

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California in Los Angeles is seeking an Administrative Analyst III (C) to provide high-level HR support, manage confidential information, and assist in HR projects.

The role involves preparing reports, analyzing data in Excel, maintaining HR policies, coordinating HR initiatives, and supporting leadership and board activities. Hybrid work with travel to district facilities as needed, and a California driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years relevant experience; OR two years as a MWD Analyst II level in the related field.
  • Experience includes progressively responsible support for a department or organizational function with project coordination or process improvement.
  • Desirable qualifications include supporting a HR function in a public agency, and experience with process improvement initiatives, SharePoint site management, board support, employee engagement programs, and updating policies, procedures, and workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Group Manager and HR Services team by preparing correspondence, reports, presentations, meeting materials, and maintaining records.
  • Support leadership and board activities by preparing agendas, reports, presentations, meeting materials, and tracking follow-up actions.
  • Maintain HR information systems and collaboration platforms, including SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive; update HR policies, procedures, and related documents
  • Support and maintain employee programs and initiatives, including recognition programs, HR communications and activities that promote employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
  • Coordinate HR projects and initiatives by setting priorities, tracking progress, and ensuring timely completion.
  • Conduct research and analysis on organizational challenges, personnel services, HR programs, policies, and special projects; present findings and recommendations to leadership to support operational improvements.
  • Prepare reports, analyze data using Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables), and develop presentations.
  • Coordinate updates to policies, procedures, and documentation by tracking revisions and supporting implementation.
  • Collaborate with managers, employees, and stakeholders while applying HR policies, maintaining confidentiality, and managing multiple priorities.
