Job summary

VISPO is seeking a hands-on HR Manager to lead compliance, policy administration, and employee relations for a nonprofit serving East Central Vermont. The role emphasizes building relationships, educating stakeholders, and exercising discretion across leadership and teams.

Responsibilities include talent acquisition, onboarding, apprenticeship programs, performance evaluations, and total rewards coordination.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in business, HR, or related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive HR experience.
• Ability to partner with leaders at all levels to implement HR initiatives.
• SHRM or HRCI credential preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies and educate stakeholders on risk.
• Monitor OSHA, EEO, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, ERISA, and HIPAA.
• Create and maintain job descriptions for all positions.
• Manage recruitment at job fairs and build talent pipeline.
• Oversee onboarding and benefits information for new hires.
• Develop and implement apprenticeship and internship programs.
• Lead wellness and total rewards initiatives.
• Support leadership with performance evaluations and employee relations.
• Foster startup-minded culture and cross-team collaboration.
