Job summary

Wolfe’s Neck Center seeks a People Operations Manager to lead HR, onboarding, compliance, and policy administration across Maine and other states. This role is central to fostering an inclusive, productive workplace and ensuring accurate employment practice.

You will guide recruitment, benefits, records management, and employee relations while collaborating with organizational leaders to maintain a fair, efficient workplace across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist or Manager-level experience; nonprofit and multi-state experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, OSHA; and Maine and other states laws.
• Experience managing employee data in an HRIS.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and supervisors, interpreting Wolfe’s Neck Center policies and employment law; resolve issues independently.
• Design and lead onboarding and orientation, including benefits administration, I-9, required training, and handbook review.
• Manage full-cycle recruitment for seasonal and year-round positions in compliance with federal and Maine employment laws.
• Provide general administrative support as needed and support IT/hardware coordination as required.
