Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. in Minneapolis, Minnesota seeks an HR Intern to support day-to-day HR and professional development activities.

This part-time role during the school year (20-25 hours/week) transitions to full-time (40 hours/week) for the summer from May to August 2027. The ideal candidate is pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business administration or HR, demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills, and is authorized to work in the US.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related discipline preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic skills using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day Human Resources and Professional Development operations through administrative support, research, reporting, and employee service activities.
• Assist with recruiting efforts, including candidate sourcing support, phone screenings, interview scheduling, and maintaining applicant tracking records.
• Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including preparing onboarding plans, completing employment documentation, conducting orientation sessions, and facilitating new hire check-ins.
• Provide support to employees and managers by answering questions and assisting with HR systems, processes, and company communications.
• Assist with the administration and maintenance of employee data, HR databases, records, and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate training and development activities by scheduling sessions, sending invitations, tracking attendance, managing training records, arranging logistics, and supporting facilitators during events.
