Job summary

ECU Worldwide USA is seeking a Human Resources & Payroll Specialist to update employee records, process payroll, and manage benefits programs across multiple locations in the USA.

The role requires accuracy, strong communication, and knowledge of payroll regulations, with English essential and Spanish highly desirable for a diverse workforce. Prior experience with Oracle or similar HRMS is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of payroll or HRMS experience is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • English required; Spanish strongly desired for a diverse workforce.
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations; familiarity with Oracle preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain employee records including physical and digital data.
  • Validate time and attendance data and handle related inquiries.
  • Enter new hires and process terminations in the payroll system.
  • Submit and process payroll as directed by Payroll Manager.
  • Calculate wage, overtime, and other types of pay.
  • Ensure payroll compliance by state and company policies.
  • Prepare tax information and post changes to payroll records.
  • Resolve payroll and benefits inquiries from employees.

Position: Human Resources & Payroll Specialist

Job Summary

An HR and payroll specialist is responsible for updating and maintaining accurate employee records and data, processing payroll, and managing employee benefit programs. He/she is also responsible for addressing and resolving benefits and payroll-related inquiries and communications.

Key responsibilities
  • Maintain employee records including physical and digital employee data, Oracle, etc.
  • Validate time and attendance data and handle related inquiries, training, etc.
  • Enter new hires and process terminations into the payroll system
  • Submit and process payroll as guided by Payroll Manager
  • Calculate wage, overtime, and other types of pay
  • Submit payroll requirements by state to maintain compliance
  • Process advance, termination, and other out-of-cycle payments
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Prepare and file tax report information as guided by Payroll Manager
  • Post changes to pay, tax status, and other employee information
  • Reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy
  • Support audits by providing documentation as required
  • Resolve to employee inquiries about payroll, benefits and general HR
Requirements
  • 3+ years’ experience with Payroll, HRMS or related area
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Languages: English required; Spanish strongly desired
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
  • Proficiency in relevant software and databases (Oracle preferred)
  • Understanding of legal regulations
