Job summary

RFCUNY is seeking an Assistant Director of HR for Payroll in New York, NY. This leadership role reports to the Associate Director of HR and the CHRO, overseeing payroll operations for field employees and ensuring accurate, timely processing in Workday (OneRF).

You will supervise the Payroll Manager and Campus Payroll Coordinators, implement multi-state payroll, maintain internal controls, and partner with RFCO Finance to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S. required in a related field; MA/MS preferred.
• Five to seven years of payroll experience in the nonprofit sector.
• Experience supervising a payroll team and handling multi-state payroll.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Payroll Manager and Campus Payroll Coordinators.
• Advise the CHRO and HR on payroll-related matters.
• Oversee field payroll implementation and administration.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain internal controls and audit payroll processes.
• Lead Workday Payroll module and stay current on system updates.
• Manage month-end and year-end payroll activities and W-2s.
