Job summary

Crestwood Construction Inc. in Truckee, CA is seeking a detail-oriented HR Manager to join our on-site team.

You will support payroll and accounting administration, ensure compliance with California employment laws, and maintain confidential personnel records. This role reports to the Finance Department with input from HR leadership and focuses on delivering an exceptional employee experience while balancing business needs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required; relevant HR/payroll/ accounting experience preferred.
• Minimum 4 years in accounting, HR, payroll, or operations; California HR/payroll experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with payroll/timekeeping software (ExakTime, Sage 100 Contractor) and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance, benefits administration, and leave laws (CFRA, PFL, etc.).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll, audit for accuracy, and maintain employee records.
• Assist with payroll reports and quarterly IRS/EDD filings; prepare annual W-2s.
• Manage workers’ compensation reports and DOT compliance; resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Ensure data security and confidentiality; reconcile accounts and GL with internal records.
