CHAMPION DODGE LLC in Downey, CA, is seeking a Human Resources / Payroll Assistant to provide administrative support for daily HR and payroll tasks, including recruiting, onboarding, timekeeping, payroll, benefits, and records management.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, discreet with confidential information, and comfortable communicating with employees and management at all levels. Automotive dealership experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in Human Resources administration.
• 1–2 years of payroll experience.
• Knowledge of California employment and labor laws.
• Familiar with Workers’ Compensation procedures and OSHA regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR/timekeeping systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting, hiring, and employee onboarding.
• Post job vacancies, review applications, print applications, and schedule interviews.
• Assist with employee relations and conflict management efforts.
• Support communication across departments and teams.
• Review timecards and ensure hours are accurately recorded.
• Assist with payroll processing and maintain payroll records.
• Assist with employee benefits administration.
• Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, PTO, health insurance, and leave-related matters.
• Organize and distribute payroll-related documents.
• Maintain confidential employee records.
• Assist with Workers’ Compensation procedures and documentation.
• Assist with compliance-related HR tasks and documentation.
