Job summary

Archer Aviation in San Jose, CA, is seeking a People Specialist to administer HR operations and support the People Team throughout the employee lifecycle.

You will process Workday transactions, answer policy questions, manage onboarding/offboarding, and ensure I-9 compliance, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality.

This onsite role pays a base salary of $83,700 to $104,600 and requires 1–3 years of HR experience, a solid HRIS background, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of HR operations, HR administration, or related experience.
• Hands-on experience with Workday or a comparable HRIS.
• Knowledge of Form I-9 requirements or ability to learn quickly.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Clear written and verbal communication and a service orientation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Process transactional requests in Workday, including data changes, job and compensation updates, and worker record maintenance, with a high level of accuracy.
• Serve as tier one HR support, responding to employee questions on HR policies, benefits, payroll inquiries, and processes, and escalating to the appropriate People Team partner when needed.
• Provide administrative support for the learning management system (LMS), including assigning courses, tracking completions, running reports, and troubleshooting user issues.
• Maintain employee documents and files, ensuring records are complete, organized, confidential, and audit-ready.
• Prepare and manage onboarding and off-boarding paperwork, coordinating with Recruiting, IT, Facilities, and hiring managers for a smooth experience.
• Complete Form I-9 processing, including document review, verification, and timely completion in line with federal requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve People Team processes and documentation.
