Job summary

Johnson Brothers Liquor Company in St. Paul, MN is seeking an HR Operations Specialist to support the day-to-day HR activities across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding through separation.

You will manage HRIS and Workday records, coordinate background checks, new hire setup, benefits, and compliance, partnering with HRBPs and hiring managers to ensure a smooth experience for employees and managers. This role requires strong communication, confidentiality, and Excel skills to handle

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in payroll, recruiting, or HR role; Workday preferred.
• Experience with ATS/HRIS and benefits administration.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local HR laws.

Responsibilities

• Manage HR shared services inbox and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Support onboarding, benefits enrollment, and employment verifications.
• Coordinate background checks, drug screens, and I-9 documentation.
• Maintain Workday records and ensure data accuracy with payroll and scheduling.
• Partner with HRBPs and managers to facilitate employee changes and leaves.
• Prepare new hire records, ensure compliance, and support onboarding readiness.
• Assist with leave administration and unemployment claim responses.
• Contribute to process improvements and HR projects as needed.
