Job summary

The University of Miami in Miami, FL is seeking an HR leader to manage HR services, counsel on employee relations, and drive strategic workforce initiatives.

You will work with management to improve morale, retention, and productivity, oversee investigations, and ensure compliance with university policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant HR experience.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR policies.

Responsibilities

• Manages HR support staff to ensure timely HR service delivery.
• Counsels employees and managers on internal employee relations practices and policies.
• Works with management to improve work relationships, morale, productivity and retention.
• Initiates, develops and executes Work Environment Assessments to identify improvement areas.
• Investigates complex employee relations issues with thorough and objective review of evidence/documentation.
• Summarizes investigation findings and recommendations.
• Conducts routine meetings with units to align with strategic objectives and suggest improvements.
• Ensures all actions comply with university policies and employment laws; guides leadership.
• Assists with restructuring, succession planning, and salary reviews for clients.
• Maintains open communications with client groups to deliver HR services and enable change.
• Organizes and maintains HR data in the ERP system.
• Generates and analyzes reports to develop solutions and policies.
• Distributes reports as needed.
• Completes special projects such as recognition programs and committees coordination.
• Ensures internal controls and training align with university policies.
