Job summary

Middlebury College seeks a People Operations specialist to support time and labor, absence management, benefits, payroll, and HRIS data accuracy in Oracle HCM. This in-person, full-time role collaborates with stakeholders to streamline forms and workflows and deliver courteous customer service.

Candidates should have an associate degree and at least two years of HRIS or payroll experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferably in Human Resources, office management or related field.
• 2+ years of HRIS or payroll operations experience required, preferably in higher education.
• Experience working with cloud-based HR systems such as Oracle HCM or Workday is desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support end users of the Oracle HCM system (HRIS) and answer routine questions on timekeeping and basic HCM functions.
• Act as subject matter expert for Oracle HCM timekeeping and absence management; maintain documentation and resolve issues.
• St ew ard departmental webforms and workflows; partner across the department to monitor and improve processes for efficiency.
• Process education-related benefits for employees and dependents, one-time payments, and independent contractor requests.
