Job summary

The McCormick Foundation’s Human Resources team in Chicago, IL is seeking a Human Resources Intern to gain hands-on experience in payroll processing, new hire processing, and HR administration. Qualifications

• Recent graduate or graduate student in HR management or closely related field.
• Excellent interpersonal, writing and presentation skills; effective communicator with diverse audiences.
• Outstanding project management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and troubleshoot HR-related challenges.
• Process payroll and assist in managing the HRIS/Payroll system.
• Support compensation, employee benefits plans, and related projects.
• Assist HR Generalist with workers' compensation, FMLA, terminations, and incident reporting.
• Assist recruiting: scheduling, background checks, offers/ declines, and updating job descriptions.
• Revise/update employee handbook and HR templates; audit files for compliance (I-9).
