Job summary

Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board is seeking a People Operations Advisor in Rapid City, SD. This full-time role supports day-to-day HR operations across employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, and compliance within Oyate Health Center.

The position requires collaboration with management and staff, strong HR knowledge, and the ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion. A flexible schedule and travel as needed are anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 1 year HR experience, or associate’s degree with 3 years experience, or high school diploma or GED with 5 years progressive experience.
• Level II requires 3 years progressively responsible relevant experience or 1 year supervisory experience.
• Ability to resolve issues with other departments and coworkers without direct supervision.
• Familiarity with American Indian populations and tribal practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and reporting regulations affecting HR functions.
• Administers HR plans and procedures; maintains employee handbook and policies.
• Supports department goals, metrics, and reporting.
• Assists with compensation program and performance evaluations.
• Develops and communicates HR activities and policies; maintains HR records and logs.
• Manages recruitment, job postings, interviews, and candidate evaluations.
• Acts as advisor to management and employees on relations, performance, and conflict resolution.
• Coordinates corrective actions and performance improvement plans as needed.
