Job summary

OWN, Inc. is an engineering firm with ESOP ownership seeking an HR Operations & Benefits Partner to oversee payroll, benefits administration, HR systems, reporting, and employee lifecycle processes.

The role suits an experienced HR professional who enjoys owning recurring processes, data, and system-based HR operations while partnering with leadership to support employees across the Missouri footprint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist, HR operations, payroll/benefits, or similar role.
• Hands-on payroll processing experience.
• Experience administering employee benefits and lifecycle processes.
• Experience in small- to mid-sized organizations where HR team members support multiple functional areas.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to run, interpret, and explain HR data and reports.
• Strong systems aptitude and ability to learn HR, payroll, benefits, and business applications.

Responsibilities

• Independently process and review biweekly payroll.
• Administer employee benefit programs, enrollments, life events, terminations, and vendor coordination.
• Support annual benefit renewals, carrier selections, and cost analysis.
• Administer leave programs and manage related communications and payroll impacts.
• Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and related communications.
• Maintain accurate employee data across HRIS, payroll, benefits, ERP/timekeeping.
• Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes including compensation and status.
• Support retirement and employee ownership programs with data and enrollment.
• Run and interpret HR and payroll reports to identify trends and support decisions.
• Conduct routine data audits and reconciliation across HR systems.
• Support HR compliance, recordkeeping, and required reporting.
• Participate in HR, payroll, benefits, HR tech vendor evaluations and RFPs.
• Identify opportunities to automate and standardize HR processes.
