Job summary

Vanda Pharmaceuticals in Washington, DC is seeking an HR Generalist to manage benefits, onboarding, payroll data accuracy, and HRIS reporting in a fast-paced environment.

You will coordinate recruitments, verifications, and data changes, while protecting confidentiality and delivering excellent customer service. This full-time onsite role offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to contribute across HR functions.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in human resources, psychology, or related field required.
• 1 year of administrative experience in a fast-paced HR department preferred.
• PHR or SHRM-CP a plus.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems a plus.
• Sound interpersonal, communication, organization and analytic skills.
• High proficiency with MS Office.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism and customer service.
• Must be a team player with urgency and motivation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates employee benefit eligibility, enrollments, terminations, and payments.
• Ensures accuracy of data change requests through HRIS system and processes data changes.
• Conducts new hire onboarding and termination processes.
• Prepares employee census information for insurance, 401(k), and other reports.
• Partners with Payroll Manager to ensure accuracy of employee data for semi-monthly and monthly payrolls.
• Provides written and verbal employment verifications.
• Supports recruitment coordination, including scheduling interviews, posting positions, and communicating with hiring managers and candidates.
• Assists with auditing and running HRIS reports to support HR and cross-functional requests.
• Supports fleet management, including tracking vehicle assignments, maintenance, and compliance documentation.
