Job summary

Guitar Center is seeking an HR Manager in Westlake Village, CA who will partner with leadership to drive performance, culture, and workforce development. You will lead CDPs, leadership development, and talent reviews while guiding employee relations and organizational design initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of HR experience, with strong data-driven decision making and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
• Strong employee relations experience, including investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and performance management.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and influence leaders across multiple levels of the organization.
• Experience using HR metrics and workforce data to identify trends and recommend business-focused solutions.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance employee advocacy and business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on employee relations, performance management, leadership effectiveness, organizational design, and change management.
• Manage employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, performance improvement, and policy interpretation while ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.
• Coach leaders on effective performance management practices, accountability, communication, employee engagement, and leadership development.
• Facilitate the Career Development Planning (CDP) process by partnering with leaders and employees to identify development opportunities, career pathways, and growth plans that align individual aspirations with business needs.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and business leaders on workforce planning, hiring strategies, onboarding, and organizational growth initiatives.
• Analyze workforce data and HR metrics-including turnover, engagement, performance, retention, and employee relations trends-to identify opportunities and recommend data-driven solutions.
• Support organizational change initiatives by helping leaders navigate team changes, restructures, and evolving business priorities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, employment laws, and documentation standards while promoting consistent HR practices across the business.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful, and high-performance culture by supporting employee engagement initiatives, leadership development, and recognition efforts.
