Job summary

Universal Engraving, Inc. is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and workforce development onsite in Overland Park, KS.

You will partner with leadership to shape staffing strategies and ensure competitive, compliant people programs. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in manufacturing HR, strong employment law knowledge, and a track record of recruiting skilled trades.

Qualifications

• 5+ years HR management in manufacturing or production.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and OSHA health & safety.
• Experience recruiting skilled trades and production workers.
• Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficient with HRIS platforms and MS Office.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, business or related field.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with senior leadership to align staffing and retention goals.
• Plans, develops, and implements HR policies and training.
• Oversees compensation, benefits, leave, discipline, investigations and performance management.
• Monitors compliance with federal, state and local employment laws.
• Keeps management informed on HR trends and regulatory changes.

The Role

As our HR Manager, you'll be the go-to person for everything people-related — from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, compliance, and workforce development.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
• Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, and initiatives, to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.
• Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
• Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of HR management experience, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment
• Strong working knowledge of employment law and OSHA/health & safety compliance
• Proven experience recruiting skilled tradespeople and production workers
• Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolutionskills
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms and MS Office Suite
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

Preferred:

• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
