Job summary

The State of Oklahoma seeks a Human Resources Management Specialist in the Department of Corrections, within the DOC Human Resources team. The role covers HR management, personnel actions, payroll administration, and compliance with applicable laws and merit rules.

It is an on-site position with opportunities across multiple HR functions. Level I–III responsibilities include wage surveys, job classifications, benefits administration, and employee records maintenance.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience requirements at all levels include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of Merit Rules for Personnel Administration and related HR laws is expected.
• Strong records maintenance and professional business communications are required.

Responsibilities

• Performs HR, payroll, or personnel activities with interpretation of rules and policies.
• Completes classification studies and develops job descriptions and org charts.
• Conducts wage surveys and prepares salary change recommendations.
• Administers agency payrolls and benefits programs in line with FLSA and policies.
• Interprets rules on personnel actions and advises staff and managers.
