Job summary

The Detroit Zoological Society is seeking a Human Resources Manager - Talent and Employee Experience to embed its culture and strategic priorities into every staff interaction from posting to onboarding.

Reporting to the HR Director, the role partners with leadership to translate people strategy into practice, leading full-cycle recruiting, performance management, engagement initiatives, onboarding, recognition, and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required.
• 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including full-cycle recruiting.
• Experience as an HR business partner with coaching managers on performance and people decisions.
• Experience developing and facilitating training programs for different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and day-to-day HR business partnership to departments.
• Lead performance management and review processes for accountability and development.
• Develop and execute talent acquisition strategies with department leaders.
• Co-lead Employee Engagement Committee and support engagement survey initiatives.
• Administer and improve employee recognition programs and platforms.
• Oversee the internship program and recruitment onboarding.
• Develop and deliver training programs aligned with organizational strategies.
• Lead onboarding to ensure a welcoming integration into DZS.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
