Job summary

Johns Manville is seeking a Human Resources Intern to support manufacturing HR functions at multiple facilities in Ohio. You will engage in employee relations, labor relations, recruiting, training, and workforce analytics while partnering with HR professionals and operations leaders.

The role offers exposure to both union and non-union environments, plus opportunities to participate in compliance, engagement, and project work within a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in HR, business, labor relations, psychology.
• At least sophomore year completed.
• Strong interest in HR, employee relations, labor relations, and/or manufacturing operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Analytical mindset with data interpretation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Support HR teams within manufacturing facilities on employee and business initiatives.
• Assist with hourly recruiting activities (screening, interviewing, onboarding, orientation).
• Participate in employee engagement and recognition programs; suggest improvements.
• Analyze workforce data and HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, staffing).
• Support employee relations activities.
• Shadow HR professionals across facilities to learn HR practices and career paths.
• Gain exposure to labor relations (contract administration, grievance prep).
• Assist with HR compliance, documentation, and records management.
• Participate in cross-functional HR projects and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with plant leadership to support workforce needs.
