Job summary

Bridgewater Bank's 2027 Summer Internship Program in the Benefits & Payroll focus within Human Resources invites you to gain hands-on exposure to payroll administration, benefits programs, HR systems, employee communications, and data tracking while collaborating with Bridgewater team members.

The program runs May 25, 2027 – August 20, 2027 and emphasizes confidentiality, professional communication, and delivering meaningful projects to the Cohort and leadership teams.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year bachelor’s degree program pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to support employee-facing benefits and payroll communications in a clear, professional, and helpful manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when working with employee data, payroll information, benefits records, deadlines, and recurring processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the HR Department while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality with sensitive employee, payroll, and benefits information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in reviewing data, identifying discrepancies, documenting processes, and supporting accurate payroll and benefits administration.
  • Comfort learning HR, payroll, and benefits systems and using technology to support accurate records, reporting, and employee service.
  • Strong presentation acumen.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while meeting deadlines tied to payroll cycles, benefits administration, compliance tracking, and employee communications.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, service-minded intern to join our 2027 Summer Intern Cohort at Bridgewater Bank within the Human Resources Department, with a focus on Benefits & Payroll.

Bridgewater Bank’s internship is designed to engage students in real-world banking activities and provide practical corporate experience that supports their education. Within the Benefits & Payroll internship, students will gain exposure to payroll administration, benefits programs, HR systems, employee communications, compliance-related processes, and data tracking. Interns will work side by side with Bridgewater team members, participate in department meetings, assist with meaningful projects, and present their work to the Cohort and Operational and Senior Leadership Teams at the end of the internship.

Program Duration: May 25, 2027 – August 20, 2027

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support payroll and benefits-related projects, including process documentation, data review, reporting, and employee communication support.
  • Gain exposure to HR systems, payroll cycles, benefits programs, compliance considerations, and the behind-the-scenes work that supports a strong employee experience.
  • Partner with the Benefits & Payroll team and broader HR Department on projects that require confidentiality, accuracy, organization, and clear communication.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Candidates must be:
    • Currently enrolled in a 4-year bachelor’s degree program pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
    • Authorized to work in the United States

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience working with spreadsheets, reporting, or data entry is preferred.

    • Maintain confidential employee, payroll, and benefits information to the highest degree.
    • Work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and follow established processes with accuracy.
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The hourly base pay range for this role is $22/hr. Bridgewater Bank provides:

  • 2 Paid Holidays and PTO accrued in compliance with MN ESST Law
