Job summary

Bridgewater Bank invites ambitious undergraduates to join our 2027 Summer Intern Cohort on the BSA team. This paid internship blends real-world banking experience with academic learning, empowering you to work on meaningful projects that support our organization’s success.

As a Junior/Senior student, you will conduct enhanced due diligence research, analyze high-risk clients, and prepare presentations for leadership. This on-site internship runs May 25, 2027 to August 20, 2027 in Minnesota.

Qualifications

  • Juniors or Seniors currently enrolled in a 4-year bachelor’s degree program.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to present clearly to varied audiences.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct enhanced due diligence research on high-risk clients.
  • Perform suspicious transaction reviews and analysis.
  • Conduct risk ratings of new bank clients.
  • Research laws and regulations related to emerging financial crime risks.
  • Take on special projects as assigned by the BSA Officer.

We’re looking for a motivated intern to join our 2027 Summer Intern Cohort at Bridgewater Bank, working with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) team. Our internship program is designed to immerse students in real-world banking experiences, enhancing their academic learning with meaningful corporate exposure. Interns will apply the knowledge and skills gained in college to impactful projects that contribute to our organization’s success.

Throughout the program, interns will:

  • Collaborate with Bridgewater employees on innovative initiatives aligned with our vision.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to gain insight into strategic decision-making.
  • Lead individual projects and present their work to the Intern Cohort, as well as to our Operational and Senior Leadership Teams.

Program Duration: May 25, 2027 – August 20, 2027

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducting enhanced due diligence research on high-risk clients
  • Conducting suspicious transaction reviews and analysis
  • Conducting risk ratings of new bank clients
  • Researching laws and regulations related to emerging financial crime risks
  • Special projects as assigned by the BSA Officer
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Candidates must be:
    • Juniors and/or Seniors currently enrolled in a 4-year bachelor’s degree program
    • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Analytical & Critical Thinking: Strong reasoning skills with the ability to work independently and contribute effectively in a team setting.
  • Communication Excellence: Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Presentation Acumen: Confidence and clarity in delivering presentations to various audiences.

  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Professional Integrity: Ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of discretion and demonstrated reliability and accountability in all aspects of work.
  • Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across teams and departments.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The hourly base pay range for this role is $22/hr. Bridgewater Bank provides:

  • 2 Paid Holidays and PTO accrued in compliance with MN ESST Law
