Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Representative at our Burns Harbor, IN location. The role supports salaried and union employees in full-cycle recruiting, benefits administration and employee relations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years in HR or labor relations, knowledge of EEO/ADA/FLSA/FMLA, and proficiency with HRIS like Ceridian Dayforce or Workday. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field with at least 2 years of HR and/or labor relations experience.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws (EEO, ADA, FLSA, FMLA).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management.
• 2 years working knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce, Workday or comparable HRMS.
• Organized, detail-oriented, results-driven, excellent communicator, able to work autonomously.
• Self-starter with motivation, initiative, innovation and enthusiasm.
• Preferred: 5+ years HR in a large manufacturing, unionized environment; SHRM-CP/PHR certification.

Responsibilities

• Administer internal and external recruiting and hiring programs for salaried and bargaining unit staff.
• Coordinate new hire orientation/onboarding.
• Develop and deliver various training programs.
• Maintain employee demographics, headcount, attrition, org charts, and critical vacancy lists.
• Assist in administering employee benefits (disability, etc.).
• Administer and interpret the collective bargaining agreement with Labor Relations.
• Assist management in policy implementation and investigation of violations; advise on resolutions.
• Conduct workplace investigations and advise actions.
