Job summary

Mom’s Meals in Des Moines, IA, is seeking an HR Generalist to support the full scope of human resources functions and partner with employees and managers. This role will be housed at our Des Moines Fleur location with possible minimal visits to Ankeny as needed.

This position serves as the first point of contact for HR-related questions and focuses on onboarding, benefits, compliance, and employee relations to maintain a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or minimum of 5+ years of Human Resources related experience
• Knowledge of general HR practices
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work streams to deliver quality results
• Experience with HR systems including timekeeping, payroll, benefits

Responsibilities

• Conduct orientations and process new hires in applicable systems
• Maintain employee files and electronic records
• Serve as first point of contact for employee/manager questions about HR processes
• Support HR programs and employee engagement activities
• Handle basic employee relations issues and coordinate with HRBP
• Assist with leave management and escalation to HRBP when needed
• Support policy compliance and retention initiatives
• Participate in offboarding processes and unemployment claim handling
