Job summary

Lake County Government seeks a Human Resources Generalist to support daily HR operations and enhance services. Under supervision, you will handle inquiries, onboarding, records, and data entry in the HRIS/Payroll system.

You will collaborate with departments on recruitment, benefits, retirement, and open enrollment, while ensuring confidentiality. A Bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years HR experience are preferred; Workday experience is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, human resources or related field preferred.
• 2–3 years of progressively responsible HR experience required.
• Ability to learn Lake County policies and labor contract provisions.

Responsibilities

• Respond courteously to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and benefits.
• Prepare and post recruitment materials and maintain records.
• Coordinate onboarding documentation and support onboarding process.
• Ensure accurate entry of employee information in HRIS/Payroll system.
