The Human Resources Generalist provides key support to the Human Resources Department’s daily operations while contributing to the enhancement and effectiveness of its HR initiatives and services. Under general supervision, this position requires a collaborative professional who thrives in a team environment and is capable of performing a wide range of professional and technical HR functions across the department’s full scope of services.
Responsibilities include responding courteously and efficiently to internal and external inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and benefits; preparing and posting recruitment materials; maintaining accurate and confidential employee records; coordinating onboarding documentation and supporting the onboarding process; and ensuring the timely and precise entry of employee information within the HRIS/Payroll system.
Depending on the assignment, the incumbent may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties, and perform related duties as assigned:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, human resources or a related field is preferred;Between 2 – 3 years of progressively responsible experience in the development and delivery of human resources servicesOr any combination of education and experience that provides the candidates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties prescribed to the position (above).
Requires mainly office work, involving standing or walking some of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis, and high dexterity in operating office equipment, including a keyboard, phone, copier, etc.
The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision and the ability to hear and speak to understand, respond to and build relationships with a diverse clientele.
