Job summary

milk + honey is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support a multi-state team across the full employee lifecycle, focusing on onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. You will work closely with leadership to implement compliant, people-centered HR practices across locations.

The role requires deep HR expertise, strong judgment, and a service-driven mindset. As part of the HR team, you will lead onboarding journeys, partner with managers on performance coaching, and drive policy

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HR Generalist experience in multi-location or hospitality/service environments.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance across multi-state operations.
• Experience leading onboarding and employee relations processes.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems, such as Paylocity, and documentation best practices.
• Impeccable organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Calm, professional demeanor with high EQ.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end onboarding post-offer, weekly orientation, and follow-ups to ensure new hires are welcomed and effective.
• Partner with managers and employees on workplace concerns, guiding resolution with proper documentation.
• Maintain up-to-date compliance with federal/state/local labor laws and refine policies and handbooks.
• Act as HR system SME and support payroll on escalations.
• Educate managers on HR policies, employee relations, and HR systems.
• Provide day-to-day policy guidance and support across locations.
• Collaborate across departments as a strategic HR partner for all locations.
