Job summary

AVONDALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT seeks a Human Resource Generalist to be the first point of contact for HR needs. Under the Executive Director of HR, the Generalist will perform onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, and employee relations tasks.

The role requires strong communication, record-keeping, and confidentiality, with experience in FMLA/COBRA/HIPAA/ACA/ASRS. This is a 1.0 FTE, 12-month position based in District Office with full benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of job-related experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and correspondence.
• Knowledge of FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, Workers' Compensation, Unemployment, and ASRS.
• Ability to work on multiple assignments with consistent accurate work.
• Experience with I-Visions Enterprise software program (preferred).
• Professional in Human Capital Leader in Education Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Issues Intents to Employ and Contracts to employees.
• Processes all new hire information and documentation for onboarding according to pertinent state and federal requirements.
• Compose documents for communicating information to district personnel, the public, state officials, etc.
• Maintains and interprets employment files, records, policies, and procedures for accurate compensation and eligibility.
• Responds to inquiries of staff and the public for employment information and direction as required.
• Collaborate with administrators in recruiting through advertising and events.
• Prepare information for the Governing Board on necessary topics.
• Create and maintain files and reports for the Arizona State Department of Education.
• Verify employment for current/previous staff.
• Maintain staffing rosters for all classified positions.
