Job summary

LifeWorks, based in Austin, TX, is seeking an HR Generalist I to join our Human Resources team. The Generalist supports day-to-day HR operations with a focus on benefits, leave administration, wellbeing, and HR data accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible HR experience.
• Experience supporting benefits administration, leaves, employee engagement, or related HR functions.
• Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other employment laws.
• Experience with HRIS and maintaining confidential employee information.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a primary resource for benefits, leaves, HR policies, and confidential support.
• Supports administration of benefit programs including enrollment and communications.
• Maintains knowledge of laws and internal procedures; partners with HR leaders, finance, and vendors for compliant benefits administration.
• Coordinates annual and mid-year benefit enrollment activities and related communications.
• Supports leaves of absence processes, including FMLA coordination and required notices.
• Supports ADA/workplace accommodation processes and confidentiality.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable employment laws and identifies potential compliance concerns.
• Coordinates employee wellbeing initiatives and partnerships with benefit providers.
• Supports employee engagement and recognition initiatives and events.
• Processes employee changes and HRIS updates; ensures timely documentation.
• Maintains accurate records and supports HR audits and reporting.
• Completes employment verifications and routine record requests.
