Job summary

Roof Penetration Housing (RPH) is expanding our HR team and seeks a Human Resources Generalist to support New Jersey and Texas locations. The role is in-office in San Antonio, with responsibilities spanning onboarding, payroll support, HRIS, benefits, and compliance under the direction of the Director of Human Resources.

You will work independently, handle sensitive information, and help scale HR processes as we grow, partnering with leadership to improve procedures and maintain policy alignment.

Qualifications

• Experience handling confidential employee information with sound judgment.
• Fundamental HR responsibilities: benefits administration, leave, payroll processing, recordkeeping, compliance.
• Experience supporting employees in more than one state (NJ and TX exposure is a plus).
• 2–4 years as HR Generalist/HR Coordinator or similar in startup/high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary HR contact for policy, benefits, payroll, time off, and HR systems, resolving routine matters.
• Own HRIS accuracy and onboarding/offboarding workflows.
• Run end-to-end onboarding, I-9 processing, orientation, and exit interviews.
• Coordinate recruiting with Talent Acquisition Specialist, including job descriptions and background checks.
• Prepare payroll changes with HR Director and Finance and administer benefits programs.
