Job summary

Grand Forks County Human Service Zone is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to provide HR and administrative support in Grand Forks, ND. This role focuses on recruitment and employee lifecycle activities within an in-office setting.

The position requires a bachelor's in HR or related field (or a strong combination of education and four years' experience), with strong communication, confidentiality, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, management, business or related field or a high school diploma with equivalent experience.
• Experience with HR, payroll, or applicant tracking systems.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage full-cycle recruitment, including postings, screening, interviews, and documentation.
• Prepare onboarding for new employees and ensure forms, clearances and access are completed.
• Maintain personnel files and HR databases in compliance with requirements.
• Process lifecycle actions such as hires, promotions, transfers and separations.
• Advise staff and supervisors on HR policies and employee relations.
• Assist with training coordination, staff communication, and recognition efforts.
• Support compliance with employment laws and internal HR processes.
• Provide general HR and administrative support; payroll and timekeeping procedures.
