Job summary

GBC Food Services is seeking an HR Generalist to support the employee life cycle across corporate, field, warehouse, and multi-location teams. You will serve as the first contact for employees and managers, guiding policy, and coordinating recruiting, onboarding, benefits, payroll, leave, and performance activities.

This role requires partnering with leaders on talent needs, conducting investigations, and maintaining accurate HR records while ensuring compliance across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• At least three years of progressive HR experience, including direct employee-relations and manager-support responsibilities, strongly preferred.
• Multi-state or multi-location foodservice, retail, hospitality, distribution, or franchise experience preferred.
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or comparable certification preferred; ability to meet travel requirements is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the employee life cycle from requisitions, postings, screening, interviews, offers, onboarding to offboarding.
• Respond to policy, process, and workplace questions; provide consistent guidance and elevate risk promptly.
• Support employee relations through intake, investigations, documentation, and communication with HR leadership.
• Coach managers on attendance, conduct, performance, and respectful workplace expectations; prepare documentation for meetings.
• Maintain accurate HRIS data and confidential personnel records including hire, pay, leave, termination, and audits.
• Coordinate benefits enrollment, payroll-impacting changes, leaves, and workers' compensation with internal specialists.
