Mom’s Meals in Grinnell, IA is seeking an HR Generalist to support all human resources functions, including onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and policy compliance. You will be the first point of contact for employee and manager HR questions, help resolve issues, and partner with HRBP and site leaders to drive engagement and retention.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in HR or 5+ years HR experience.
• Experience with HRIS, payroll, and benefits processes.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct orientations and process new hires in HRIS and I-9/E-Verify.
• Maintain employee files and records electronically.
• Serve as first point of contact for employee/manager questions about process, policy, compensation, benefits, and performance or conduct.
• Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues and partnering with HRBP and leaders on engagement.
• Handle Tier 1 employee relations issues and work toward amicable solutions with the business leader and HRBP.
• Support leave questions and escalate to HRBP when necessary.
• Drive continuous improvement in HR programs and recommend improvements in line with company values.
• Ensure site compliance with company policies and promote retention of key talent.
• Support employee offboarding for low-risk terminations.
• Respond to unemployment claims and fact-finding interviews.
