Balco, a Great Place to Work recognized employer, seeks an HR Generalist to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You’ll work directly with employees and leaders on relations, onboarding, leave, and recruiting while promoting a culture of trust and accountability.

You will balance employee advocacy with business partnership, helping shape leadership development and operational success on site. This role is in-office with light travel and requires a background check and clean MVR.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, HR, or related field preferred.
2–5 years of experience in HR.
Background check and drug screen required.
Travel ~10% expected.
In-office position.

Responsibilities

Walk the production floor to connect with employees and leaders and build trust.
Coach managers on employee relations and performance conversations.
Support recruiting by screening candidates and coordinating interviews.
Administer leave, accommodations and workplace concerns with compliance.
Lead onboarding to ensure new hires feel welcomed and set up for success.
Conduct workplace investigations with professionalism and discretion.
Support employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.
Partner with leadership to improve retention and team effectiveness.

Position Summary

In this role, no two days will look the same. One moment you may be supporting a leader through a difficult conversation with an employee; the next, you could be walking the floor, connecting with employees, helping coordinate onboarding for a new hire, assisting with a leave of absence, supporting recruiting efforts, or partnering with operations leaders to improve team engagement and retention.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys handling issues at the lowest possible level through communication, trust, accountability, and partnership. We are looking for someone who brings energy, professionalism, sound judgment, and a team-first mindset while helping foster a workplace where employees feel supported, valued, and challenged to grow.

What a Day In Life Looks Like

Walking on the production floor and connecting with employees and leaders to build trust and maintain strong relationships.
Coaching managers through employee relations concerns, performance conversations, and leadership challenges.
Supporting recruiting efforts by screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and helping create a positive candidate experience.
Partnering with employees and leaders on leave administration, accommodations, and workplace concerns while ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws.
Assisting with policy questions, employee concerns, and maintaining positive working relationships.
Leading onboard efforts to ensure new employees feel welcomed, connected, and set up for success from day one.
Conducting workplace investigations with professionalism, fairness, and confidentiality.
Supporting employee engagement activities, recognition efforts, celebrations, and culture-building initiatives.
Partnering with leadership to improve retention, accountability, communication, and overall team effectiveness.
Helping maintain accurate HR records, reporting, payroll coordination, and HRIS data management.
Jumping in where needed to support the business, employees, and team.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

Experience

2-5 years of experience in Human Resources role.

Other Requirements

Candidates who receive an offer of employment must successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
This position requires some travel around 10%.
This role requires driving for the Company, so candidates who receive an offer of employment for this role must have a current driver’s license and have a clean MVR.
This is an in-office position.
