Job summary

Miller Industries, the world’s largest manufacturer of towing and recovery equipment, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to partner with operations, safety, and leadership. You will handle employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and HR administration, ensuring alignment with policies and employment laws.

Responsibilities include talent acquisition support, safety onboarding, benefits administration, and HRIS data accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience supporting hourly/workforce populations strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Summary

The Human Resources Generalist provides comprehensive HR support within a manufacturing environment, partnering closely with operations, safety, and leadership teams. This role is responsible for managing employee relations, talent acquisition support, onboarding, compliance, and HR administration while ensuring alignment with company policies, safety standards, and employment laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Partnership

  • Build relationships and act as a trusted advisor, providing proactive HR guidance aligned with operational objectives
  • Partner with leaders to drive and support organizational initiatives, goals, and processes. This will include translating business strategies into actionable HR plans.
  • Collaborate with leaders to assess their workforce needs, and provide support and guidance in addressing those needs

E mployee Relations & Workforce Support

  • Serve as a primary HR contact for hourly employees, addressing questions, concerns, and workplace issues
  • Investigate employee relations matters and support resolution in a consistent and compliant manner
  • Partner with supervisors to support performance management, coaching, and disciplinary processes
  • Promote a positive work environment aligned with company culture and values

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and support recruiting efforts
  • Coordinate interviews, candidate communications, and pre-employment processes
  • Assist with onboarding logistics and ensure a smooth transition for new hires
  • Support employer branding and workforce planning initiatives
  • Facilitate onboarding processes including documentation and system access setup
  • Ensure completion of I-9, background checks, and compliance documentation
  • Assists in coordination of safety onboarding and training for plant employees

Compliance & HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Support audits, reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, EEO, wage & hour)
  • Administer HR policies, procedures, and programs consistently across the workforce
  • Assist with benefits administration, leave management, and employee documentation

Training & Development

  • Coordinate and track required compliance and safety training
  • Support development initiatives for both hourly and professional roles
  • Partner with leadership to identify skill gaps and training needs
  • Assist in performance evaluation processes and career development planning

Manufacturing & Safety Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations and Safety teams to support plant initiatives
  • Reinforce workplace safety culture and assist in safety-related HR processes
  • Support incident documentation, follow-up, and employee communications when needed
  • Ensure alignment between HR practices and manufacturing workforce requirements

HR Systems & Reporting

  • Maintain HRIS data accuracy and generate reports as needed
  • Support process improvements and HR system enhancements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)

  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices
  • Ability to manage employee relations issues with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
