About The Role
The HR Generalist owns the day-to-day people operations that keep a fast-growing team running: onboarding, benefits, compliance, performance support, and employee relations.
This role sits at the center of the People team, partnering with recruiting, finance, and managers to scale HR programs while keeping the employee experience personal and consistent.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end onboarding: pre-boarding logistics, new-hire orientation, I-9/E-Verify compliance, and 90-day check-ins
- Administer benefits enrollment, leave of absences (FMLA, CFRA, disability), and open enrollment in partnership with brokers and the payroll team
- Serve as first point of contact for employee relations issues, conducting investigations and documenting outcomes with guidance from Employment Counsel
- Maintain HRIS data integrity in systems like Rippling, Gusto, or Workday; own HR reporting on headcount, attrition, and engagement
- Support performance review cycles, promotion processes, and manager coaching conversations
- Ensure compliance with federal, California, and local employment laws; keep policies and the employee handbook current
- Run company programs including engagement surveys, recognition, and offsites in partnership with the People team
What We Are Looking For
- 3-6 years of HR generalist experience, ideally in high-growth technology companies
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (Workday, Rippling, Gusto, or similar) and benefits administration
- Working knowledge of California employment law, including wage and hour, leaves, and required trainings
- Experience conducting employee relations investigations with sound judgment and discretion
- Strong communication skills; comfortable advising managers and presenting to employees at all levels
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience; PHR/SHRM-CP a plus
- Bonus: experience scaling HR programs through rapid headcount growth, running engagement surveys, or supporting international expansion
