The HR Generalist serves as a central pillar in ensuring the seamless execution of human resource operations that directly impact employee experience, compliance, and organizational efficiency. Positioned as a key point of support for both employees and leadership, this role enables scalable HR practices spanning onboarding, compliance, employee relations, leave administration, and the overall workforce lifecycle. Reporting to the Regional HR Manager, this role emphasizes process optimization, multi-location coordination, and the application of HR best practices to meet UNIS's objectives of cultivating a high-performance and people-first culture.

Responsibilities
  • 1. Provide hands‑on administrative and HR support across multiple locations, including maintaining accurate employee records, managing personnel changes, preparing reports, and updating the HRIS system efficiently.
  • 2. Serve as a trusted first point of contact for employees and managers, addressing routine inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and processes, while escalating complex issues like employee relations or compliance matters to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • 3. Coordinate all stages of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, status changes, promotions, performance documentation, and employee exits, ensuring smooth and consistent processes across multi‑state operations.
  • 4. Oversee leave administration, accommodations, benefits coordination, and attendance processes by managing documentation, ensuring policy compliance, and collaborating with internal partners for accurate resolutions.
  • 5. Ensure HR compliance across multiple states by maintaining proper recordkeeping, distributing required notices and documentation, tracking training completion, and supporting internal audits to align with company standards and legal policies.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • 3–5+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR Generalist responsibilities, preferably within multi‑shift operational environments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment laws and HR practices, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and workplace investigations.
  • Strong coaching, communication, conflict‑resolution, and problem‑solving skills with the discretion to manage sensitive employee matters.
  • Experience with HRIS, ATS, leave/benefits, performance management, and Microsoft Office tools; comfort using HR analytics and technology to support decisions.
Preferred Requirements
  • 1. Demonstrated experience supporting HR operations in a multi‑state or multi‑location context.
  • 2. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, enhancing communication across a diverse workforce.
  • 3. Familiarity with HR analytics and utilizing AI‑enabled tools to enhance operational decision‑making and identify improvement opportunities.
