- Provide Human Resources support to colleges and/or work units in recruitment, payroll, benefits, and employment relations
- Provide high-quality, responsive support while ensuring compliant, timely, and accurate HR processing
- Provide strategic support as a human resources business partner
- Assist with campus and/or work unit operational policy development
- Receive, respond to, and resolve employee questions and problems
- Execute and audit work transactions and changes according to established policies and procedures and anticipated deadlines
- Provide consultation and perform analytics
- Maintain personnel files, communications, and materials for work units through various mediums
- Contribute to the development, implementation, interpretation, and revision of work-unit HR policies and procedures according to institutional and legal requirements
- Represent the unit/program at institutional workshops, informational meetings, and training sessions
- Collaborate with the Department of Human Resources team
Requirements
- Past work experience in Human Resources or a related field
- Previous experience with HRIS, preferably Workday or similar software systems
- Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong customer service skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with various groups and individuals
- Ability to maintain discretion and the highest ethical and professional standards when handling confidential information
- Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment with quickly shifting priorities
- Strong initiative and ability to remain adaptable to different situations and changes
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field
- Three or more years of Human Resources or related-field experience preferred
- Previous college or university work experience preferred
- Previous HRIS systems experience preferred
- Related HR certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
- Current knowledge and application of HR best practices and regulatory compliance, including DOL, FLSA, EEOC, and ADA
- Resume and cover letter required
- Three references, including at least one manager or supervisor, may be requested during the interview process
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout employment
- Final candidates are subject to pre-employment screening, including a criminal background check, work authorization verification, and education verification
