Job summary

Westhafen Consulting seeks an HR Generalist to manage the full employee lifecycle for a multi-state small firm, from offer letters to last day. The role is fully remote from anywhere in the United States and requires handling onboarding, I-9 compliance, benefits enrollment, and HR records with state-specific rules.

You’ll coordinate PTO and leave, keep the employee handbook up to date, and leverage HR systems to maintain accurate data. SHRM-CP/PHR or multi-state experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Has worked in HR (internships count).
• Familiar with HR software: Gusto, Rippling, or BambooHR.
• Knows Form I-9 and E-Verify procedures.
• Proficient with Excel or Google Sheets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare offer letters and manage onboarding.
• Oversee benefits enrollment and answer open enrollment questions.
• Maintain employee records and HR data integrity.
• Manage PTO and leave administration.
• Ensure handbook aligns with state rules and updates accordingly.

The role

Westhafen's employees work from several states, and each state has its own rules for hiring, pay notices and leave. You look after the whole employee lifecycle for a small firm, from the offer letter to the last day.

• Offer letters and onboarding, I-9 and state new hire reporting
• Benefits enrollment and open enrollment questions
• Employee records
• PTO and leave
• The handbook, kept in line with each state's rules

Also welcome: SHRM-CP or PHR, multi-state experience, an HR degree.
