Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) is seeking an HR Generalist to support staffing, onboarding, and employee relations. The role involves managing recruitment activities in our ATS, ensuring compliance with EEO and related regulations, and delivering training and benefits education.

The position requires cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic environment. You will contribute to compensation planning, performance reviews, and employee development while upholding CMC’s Guiding Principles and

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in human resources (recruiting, employee relations, benefits, training, compensation, or labor relations).
  • Knowledge of EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, DOL, E-Verify, and related laws.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure staffing needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Manage recruiting activity and documentation in the ATS per affirmative action policies.
  • Conduct new employee orientations.
  • Foster positive employee relations and uphold CMC culture.
  • Process day-to-day transactions like new hires and data changes with accuracy.
  • Support compliance with EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA and related laws.
  • Assist investigations and responses to government or internal charges.
  • Participate in compensation planning, performance reviews and development planning.
  • Educate employees about benefits and annual enrollment.
  • Provide training and facilitation.
  • Identify issues and report to the HR Manager for resolution.
  • Ensure consistent policy implementation.

What You'll Do
  • Responsible for making sure all staffing needs are met in a timely manner
  • Ensure all recruiting activity and documentation is managed in CMC's applicant tracking system and in accordance with affirmative action policies
  • Responsible for new employee orientations
  • Ensure positive employee relations and build the CMC culture based on our Guiding Principles
  • Responsible for day-to-day transactions such as processing new hires and employee data changes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of information entered in the system
  • Oversee implementation of CMC programs to comply with various governmental regulations dealing with EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA and other related Federal & State laws
  • Assist with investigations and formulate responses to government, legal or internally reported employee relations charges
  • Participate in compensation planning, performance assessment and employee development planning
  • Understand and educate employees regarding CMC's benefits, including support of the annual enrollment process
  • Training and facilitation
  • Identify and communicate general issues and concerns to the HR Manager and participate in solving such issues
  • Ensure consistent CMC policy implementation
What You'll Need
  • Minimum 3 years work experience required in human resources. This could include a combination of recruiting, employee relations, benefits, training, compensation, or labor relations
  • Knowledge of EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, Workers Compensation, DOL, E-Verify, and other related Federal & State laws required
  • Strong client facing skills with a consultative mindset and ability to effectively problem solve
  • Proficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, with occasional overnight travel
  • Bilingual verbal and written communication in English-Spanish required
Your Education
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related field required
