Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Administrator and the Corporate Director of Human Resources the Human Resources Generalist will facilitate the recruitment, onboarding, and retention activities for the Care Center. The HR Generalist will maintain employee files and track employee milestones for regulatory compliance. Serve as the point of contact for employees for HR related inquiries. This position has responsibility for the administration and coordination of Human Resources activities in accordance with company policy and current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tracking of employee status changes, such as terminations, promotions, etc.
- Participates and administers HR duties, including but not limited to, providing local support to employees and managers regarding company HR policies, unemployment activities, case management of STD, FMLA, and Worker’s Compensation, etc.
- Executes projects and processes in alignment with the HR Strategy.
- Acts as a liaison to the corporate office for human resources and safety programs and initiatives; Partners with leadership to communicate to client areas.
- Maintains an effective selection system for hiring quality staff throughout the organization. This includes application reviews and screening applicants, conducting reference checks, background checks and drug screening. Practices behavioral interviewing techniques and coaches managers to effectively interview.
- Administers pre-hire requirements, such as drug screens, background check, fingerprinting, etc.
- Prepares orientation materials for new hires, such as new hire paperwork and name badges. Orients new employees to the company and explains policies and procedures, benefits, etc.
- Conducts ongoing sourcing for high turnover positions.
- Tracks employee turnover into voluntary and involuntary, looking for trends, and making recommendations for reducing overall turnover.
- Collaborates with Corporate HR Manager to advise with leadership concerning staffing issues, wage and salary issues, disciplinary action/counseling, terminations, etc. Counsels management on other employee corrective actions as needed
- Cross-trained to support payroll operations and provide coverage for Payroll Specialist responsibilities during absences, ensuring continuity and accuracy in payroll processes.
- Proactively maintains effective employee relations and engagement to achieve business objectives and positive morale
Qualifications Required
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Associates degree or higher preferred
Experience:
- At least three years relevant experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
Travel Requirements:
- Some local travel may be required.
