Job summary

Beacon Hill is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our Downtown Los Angeles nonprofit on a contract-to-hire basis. You will support day-to-day HR operations with a strong focus on LOA administration, employee relations, and workplace investigations.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, knowledgeable in California employment laws, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Paycom experience is highly preferred, and relevance with LOA, investigations, and Paycom is frequently cited in

• LOA administration experience is required.
• Experience handling employee relations and investigations.
• Strong knowledge of California employment laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Administer employee leave programs including FMLA, CFRA, ADA, PDL, and other protected leaves.
• Manage the interactive process and coordinate accommodations with employees and managers.
• Conduct employee relations investigations, gather documentation, interview involved parties, and provide recommendations.
• Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and California labor law compliance.
• Support onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and policy administration.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Partner with payroll and benefits teams regarding leave, benefits, and employee status changes.
• Assist with recruiting, employee engagement initiatives, and special HR projects.
• Generate HR reports and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
