Harrison Steel is looking for a bi-lingual outgoing, self-directed, and highly motivated individual to be their Employment Specialist working for the Human Resources department. This position is responsible for all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, training, development, job evaluations, and performance reviews.
Encompassing a broad range of responsibilities, the successful candidate will be self-directed, communicate effectively, and good at collaborating with many different departments. The majority of the time will be spent communicating via phone, email, in-person interviews, and internal meetings to determine and prioritize the company's human resource needs.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and orientation of employees.
- Market employment opportunities to potential employees through various mediums such as face-to-face, presentations, job fairs, associations, networks, job boards, and social media.
- Administer, maintain, and oversee the employee lifecycle (training and development, performance reviews, workforce planning, and other employment areas) and provide necessary communication, training, and review.
- Thorough understanding of the daily duties and responsibilities of many positions and extensive collaboration with all areas of the organization to achieve the best results.
- Collect, analyze, and prepare data to provide management with information and suggestions on a variety of employment, benefits, compensation, personnel, payroll, systems, and regulatory topics.
- Serve as a reliable resource and advocate for employees. Seek to resolve employee issues and/or complaints related to hourly compensation and/or benefits. Refer difficult or very complex complaints to the Manager of Human Resources as needed.
- Remain current on industry trends and regulatory requirements and make recommendations for enhancements or improvements.
- Keep up-to-date on all legal and government requirements associated with personnel management, including the hiring, recruiting, and disciplining of employees.
- Provide support to supervision in maintaining the policies and procedures of the company.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have either an associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources or two years of progressively responsible related work, with experience in hiring or marketing for manufacturing a plus. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish with the ability to converse, interpret, and present both in verbal and written forms strongly preferred. Must have strong, current, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and be able to learn our applicant tracking system (iSolved) and human resources information systems (UKG Workforce Ready).
