Job summary

The Personnel Consulting Group is seeking an HR Director to lead and build the HR function for a growing industrial services organization based in Geismar, LA. You will establish core HR processes, write handbooks, oversee payroll, and ensure multi‑state regulatory compliance while partnering with safety and executive leadership.

You will mentor a small HR team, guide compensation structuring, and support future acquisitions.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
• Experience in industrial services, field services, construction, energy, or technical environments preferred
• Proven ability to build HR systems, write handbooks, and standardize back‑office operations
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field; HR certifications a plus
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms; Paycom is a plus; Excel skills required
• Leadership style: high EI, direct communication, hands‑on execution

Responsibilities

• Establish core HR processes, standardization, and back‑office structure
• Develop and implement employee handbooks, PTO policies, and progressive discipline
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local employment laws across locations
• Lead HR team, mentor HR Coordinator and regional HR Manager
• Oversee payroll processing reviews with Payroll Coordinator
• Partner with Safety to align HR with safety and risk management
• Oversee HRIS & payroll migration and system consolidation
• Support post‑acquisition integration and future M&A changes
• Coach supervisors on employment law basics, conflict resolution, and performance management
• Design first formal annual performance review system
• Assist leadership with compensation benchmarking and bonus programs
• Oversee health, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits
