Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking an HR Coordinator to support the Food & Beverage division at a fast-paced convention center environment in Houston. You will handle recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR programs while partnering with the HR Director to ensure smooth operations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-service oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities across varying shifts and events, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in HR or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum three years of HR experience.
• Experience supporting high-volume hourly workforces.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Manage calendars for HR leadership and operations teams; coordinate interviews and events.
• Serve as liaison between employees, supervisors, and HR; respond to inquiries.
• Coordinate meeting logistics, agendas, and distribution of materials.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
• Assist with workforce planning and scheduling for conventions and events.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with all staff.
• Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly Food & Beverage roles.
• Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
