Job summary

Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is seeking an OOS Human Resource Consultant 2 to provide professional-level HR consultation to administrators, managers, supervisors, and staff on sensitive HR topics, including leaves, classifications, and benefits. The role emphasizes strong customer service, organization, and independent work in a hybrid setting.

You will advise on leave accruals, process HR actions, and train staff while ensuring compliance with WACs, CBAs, and agency policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, HR, social or organizational behavioral sciences, or a related field.
• One year of professional human resource experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional-level consultation on leave, classification issues, position descriptions, and personnel/payroll actions in line with WACs, CBAs and DSHS policies.
• Process incoming/outgoing paperwork for employees, onboarding, and offboarding.
• Explain rights and responsibilities under protected leave laws, calculate eligibility and qualification for leave.
• Deliver HR training in one-on-one or group settings.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and analyze issues to resolution.
• Support managers and employees with HR guidance and development.
