Job summary

Careers In Nonprofits is seeking an Organizational Infrastructure Consultant for a Public Policy, Research, and Advocacy organization based in Oakland, CA. This part-time (20–30 hrs/wk), hybrid or remote, temporary/contract assignment begins mid-October 2026 and ends mid-March 2027.

The role translates negotiated contract language into sustainable HR systems, operational workflows, management tools, and compliance processes to ensure consistent contract administration across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, public administration, labor relations, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience with significant labor relations responsibilities.
• Experience implementing collective bargaining agreements or supporting unionized work environments.
• Experience developing HR policies, SOPs, and operational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Translate negotiated contract language into sustainable HR systems, operational workflows, management tools, and compliance processes.
• Develop and deliver management training materials and templates.
• Support contract administration, grievance tracking, and union notification protocols.
• Review HR tools (ADP, Google Workspace) for reporting and recordkeeping alignment.
